Start in NF or Proph?
After deleting my old level 10 mesmer to make room (back in December), then finding out that I hated the Dervish class, I want to remake one. Probally another Me/E since GoLE was so awesome for Backfire/Empathy. I know skills are harder to come by and are more expensive in NF (I.E., not free), but having at least Koss on my side will help a lot. Should I go Proph for the looks/free skills, NF for the hero/phat loots, or NF then get ran to Ascalon with a hero and sunspear skills in tow? O_O

why dont you start in proph, get your skils, then do the "to istan or w/e it's called" and get your heroes that way, or vice versa, if you have both campaigns you can do quests to get you from point a to point b, i would suggest weighing your pros and cons to each campaign

Imo if your looking to get your mesmer leveled faster then I suggest NF. If your not in a rush and want to chill out and take it slow then i suggest prophecies. I used to start all my core proffessions except for my warrior in factions just cos its really quick to level chars and i couldnt be bothered to go through a ton of tutorials in NF and didnt want to waste a lot of time going through a lot of quests etc in proph.

If you know how to be a good mesmer, just go through Factions, level up, and go to Istan once you get to KC for your heroes.
If you are still new to the prof and want to be a good mesmer, go through Prophecies, learn timing and skill match-ups, and make your life easier and others' hell. Besides, it's hella fun capping skills in the Southern Shiverpeaks.

Proph, bc both genders look better there jk, jk, but seriously, go proph: more free skills. Even if NF is faster lvling, Proph has a more enjoyable story (in my opinion).

I went with nightfall because I don't like the way the male mesmers look in prophecies and factions(no offense to those of you that do). If you like the way the characters look or don't care then I'd suggest prophecies, it's the best campaign imo and all the skill quests can help you build up a nice collection without spending a bunch of cash. You can always level up in factions, nightfall or eye of the north if the slow leveling bothers ya.
